3/19/2023 0 Comments Dhl shipit![]() Personally DHL is not going to be around for a long time. I worked on the DHLGM side and dealing with Express people was like dealing with. If it's Express, you're pretty much fucked. Sadly DHL companies don't intermix and therefore they each have their own tracking processes. Find out right away if it is a DHL Express package or a DHL Global package. Never use DHL for anything if you want something done right.ĭHL is nothing more than a glorified USPS service, as they use them for a lot of their processing.Ī couple things if you HAVE to use them. THis is coming from a former DHL Global Mail Employee. ![]() If I don’t get it tonight my next post may be from jail, as violent felony may be unavoidable. I will be sitting at the DHL center at 7:01 tonight, trying to contain my disgust and anger at their entire organization while making sure they get my box off the fucking truck as soon as humanly possible. So tonight I can’t pick up the package on my way home, since it’s on the fucking truck which doesn’t get back until 7 PM. It’s all a blur of anger and resentment by now. Lie to me, waste hours and hours of my time, lie to me (again), have supremely unhelpful, slow and stupid customer service people, ignore my requests while telling me “no problem”, and just act like they don’t care at all when I finally reach someone. Fuck DHL right in their stupid fucking red and yellow asses. Not only that, but (at least she’s honest unlike the last one) she tells me she can’t guarantee a later delivery, and that there’s no way to do that and the last person I talked to didn’t know what they were talking about. If this were baseball I’d be charging the mound with a baseball bat right now. This morning I call to confirm that it’s there – and the customer service lady helpfully informs me that it’s on the truck, ready to be re-delivered today. A day late and half an hour out of my way, but whatever. Fine, better than nothing, I can pick it up on my way home from work. They can’t do much of anything, but they will at least hold the package instead of sending it out. My wife (bless her) manages to track down the number for the local DHL facility and calls it. I finally give up and hang up in disgust. I sit on hold another fifteen minutes - we've officially hit an hour ( on top of the half-hour from the first call). I write DHL a nasty letter on their feedback site online, while sitting on hold with them. I can’t pick up my package – which which I was assured would be delivered after 4 PM – and can’t even reach someone to at least ask that they try to deliver late again the next day. I’ve wasted almost two hours of my life trying to speak to someone who can help me. By this time even if someone picks up, it’s too late to do anything – they’ll be closed by the time I get there. ![]() The DHL shipping location is 20 minutes from my house. I call back in half an hour (7 PM, for those who are keeping track.) I sit on hold for 45 minutes. ![]() Then he finally punches the number in right and literally cuts me off in mid-sentence with “the truck isn’t back yet, you’ll have to call back later.” He won’t answer any of my questions, can’t help me with anything at all – related to the package or not – because “the truck isn’t back yet.” He tells me to call back in half an hour and hangs up on me. I tell him I want to come pick it up and he says “why do you want to pick it up? We’re going to re-deliver it tomorrow.” I inform him that I need this package as soon as possible, and don’t want to take the chance of missing it again. I have to give him the tracking number three times before he gets it right. Finally I hit the internet and look up DHL’s main customer service line, work through their annoying menus, and speak to someone who patches me over to the same number, which works this time.įinally someone picks up. I dial in several times with the same result. It asks me to enter my zip code, then instantly goes to a busy signal. I call the number on the tag to see if I can pick it up. I come home to find a “sorry we missed you” tag on the door – time on it was 2:00 PM. The driver will be there between 4 and 6. So yesterday morning I call DHL to see if they can drop it off later in the day, as nobody is home until 4PM or so. I’m waiting for an important package that was supposed to show up yesterday. Tl,dr: DHL is the worst, most incompetent fucking company on the planet, and I've wasted two days trying to get my package from them. ![]()
